Cambodia Gambling Halls
There is a captivating background to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, where casino gaming is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are based in a relatively small area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; still, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and although visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.
The first Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau gambling hall, contains 150 slots and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel building that features many conveniences aside from the gambling hall, which provides ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 table games.
