Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where casino wagering is not legal. Eight casinos are anchored in a generally tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 17:00, and although visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are methods around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored ship casino, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred one armed bandits and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that contains a number of luxuries aside from the gambling den, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
