Cambodia Gambling Dens
There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling den wagering is not legal. Eight casinos are based in a relatively tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime destination, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; still, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are allegedly necessary to cross, there are ways around this, as is true of many borders.
The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive resort and hotel complex that highlights a number of conveniences on top of the gambling hall, which offers 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slots and eighty eight table games.
